Due to its flexibility, the IF-MAP protocol is suitable for a wide range of use cases, even such use cases that go beyond the classical field of network security. Recently, Ingo Bente, a research associate with the Trust@FHH group and their responsible contact for the ESUKOM project, had the chance to introduce the IF-MAP protocol to the MASSIF project team at a meeting in Darmstadt, Germany.
The MASSIF project (http://www.massif-project.eu/) aims at developing a new generation Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) framework for monitoring and predicting security relevant incidents. The SIEM framework will be demonstrated in the scope of complex and security-critical systems like the Olympic Games IT infrastructure, a mobile money transfer system, managed enterprise services and critical infrastructures.
The MASSIF and Esukom teams will exchange their findings and expertise. The talk is available for download.
